About Penny Bennett

Having defaced countless NHS diaries and notebooks with doodles and caricatures of my colleagues I have decided to turn my talents to illustrating children’s’ books.

I retired a few years ago from a career as a therapist and now spend my time walking my dog, reading, watching animation films, creative writing and painting.

The love of art and animals weave themselves into everything I do.

I cannot think of anything better than bringing to life the wonderful characters and places created in storyland.

I work mostly in pencil, ink, watercolours and gouache. I have recently been exploring digital art and I am illustrating a tale of two rooks in lino-print. I have illustrated four books and I am currently working on a picture book commission and two of my own.
